Errors corrected in published stories, replies and correction requests, and stories that were withdrawn, newest first.
How corrections work
When a published story contains an error, a dated note is added to the end of the story saying what was wrong and what is correct, and the correction is listed here. The story's "updated" time changes with it. A story that has to be removed, for example after a credible copyright claim, is withdrawn: its address then shows a short notice, and the withdrawal is listed here.
Replies and correction requests
If a story says something about you that is untrue or that harms your honour or reputation, you can send a reply or a correction request. Send the address of the story, the text you want published and the name it should appear under. A reply may be as long as the story it answers; for a story shorter than 20 lines it may run to 30 lines.
A reply or correction request that meets the legal conditions is published within one day of receipt, without changes, on the story's own page: directly under the headline, in the same type as the story, with the sender's name and the dates it was received and published. A link at the top of the story points to it, and it is listed here. If the story has been withdrawn, the reply is published on a page of its own, and a notice linking to it appears on the news front page for at least seven days: at the top of the page for at least the first 24 hours, then below the top stories.
Archive
A copy of every version of every story, including its corrections, replies and any withdrawal notice, is kept in a private archive for at least two years, so that it can be provided to a prosecutor or a court on request. Withdrawn stories stay in this archive; they are not shown to readers.
