Households to receive £100 payment to help with energy bills

Millions of households are to receive a £100 payment to help with energy bills, news organisations reported. Chancellor John Healey reportedly said the £100 would go to 20m households in bands A to D of council tax, at a cost of £2.6bn, funded by a windfall tax on banks.
